Synopsis:

The subject of this film is freedom. Freedom which cannot be trampled, as much as the powers that be would want that. Film is based on Miroslav Krleza's "The Ballads of Petrica Kerempuh", one of the capital works of Croatian literature. The story of the film is very close to contemporary man, in this time of social disintegration, especially in countries in transition. It takes place in two different times. Modern and feudal. In feudal times the main tool of repression was brute force, and in today's world it is being carried out by much more sophisticated tools of mass hypnosis over the media. We are drawing parallels between those two epochs to emphasize that the masses were always oppressed by tyrants and powers that be.
